Tell me A-bit about yourself?

My name is Ryan Grant I am a 21 year old fashion designer from Houston, Texas. Never really had any formal training in design just a crazy will to innovate and research the greats until I stand beside or above them in EVERYTHING.

If you had to sum up PRIVE in 3 words what would they be?

    Private,Iconic,Luxury

We Know Prive is New but when was it a realisation that You wanted to Design?

Absolutely, I truly feel as though this is the collection I have always dreamed of minus a piece missing or two but thats will always be said in design always one piece    away from the masterpiece collection you see in your eyes daily. This was the most amazing process and learning experience not only in design and craftsmanship but in self change and personal growth I called this collection HOLY WATER because that exactly what it represented to me not only a change and cleansing in fashion but a self cleansing for my previous beliefs and obstacles in design.

What was the First article of clothing you Designed and Did it Turn out how you hoped?

First article of clothing I ever designed was an imitation rolling stones tshirt that I had drawn with these bright red lips, and a weird tongue hanging out.  It was truly my pride and joy at the moment and my introduction into the world of profitable design.

What are your Favourite Fabrics to work with and why this season?

I am truly truly in love with lambskin and bullhide leather this season black is always the staple color so I truly wanted to experiment with these two fabrics in particular

What are some of your favourite designers?

True fan of young designers not these huge fashion houses I feel that they have lost touch with the average mans wants and put price over the devotion most have to their brands. Im a fan of young artist like Josh Gott, Katie Early, Jalil Peraza, Rhuigi Villanesor, Oliver Rousteing ( his work with Balmain cannot go unmentioned), Rick Owens DIE HARD

How would you describe your Personal Style?

Lazy with a twist of luxury,  Ive always had true love for minimalistic design aspect of Rick Owens in the way most of his garments are oversized, you will usually catch me in an oversized basic with some slim balmains and dirty margielas or Jordan 6. Its like a staple.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I believe as an artist in any genre inspiration must come from all, everything I see, experience and witness is apart of my inspiration and design make up. It could be a brooch on an old lady that inspires me to design a floral collection, or the drapery in a home furniture store that inspires me to elongate a piece or add thickness to the surface texture, A TRUE ARTIST KNOWS NO LIMITS TO INSPIRE.

What's more important to you Fashion or Style?

Style is more important, it what fashion is built upon. That daily need to cover or express our emotions in amazingly crafted garments.

Where do you see PRIVE in 5 years?

Truly see Prive as not only an American staple in fashion but a movement of a connoisseurs of luxury and exclusivity.
