Having just got back from New York and working through NYFW it was a great time and it wasn't just the parties. But the great individuals we met too. We had the pleasure of spending a-lot of time with HBA menswear designer Shayne Oliver and really being in his essence.

What we really want to focus on is his creativity and new movement he has brewed from the underground clubs to now debuting in Made Fashion Week In New York City. 



The Young Street Wear designer who started back in 2007 just making Tee's for friends who is now in 2013 ,questionable,  one of the best street wear designers of our times.  Oliver's design aesthetic mixes gothic and hood and is full on quirky. What we love about the Hood By Air brand is it surpasses just a label, just something you grab and throw on and think you look "Swag'' it's a lifestyle. Its the music, its the fun its the hard parties and this is what we noticed when we were in NYC. But isn't that what it's all about?

When we caught up with Shayne we wanted to speak less about the brand and more about him and get to the core of why he creates the way he does.

After a crazy night out in NYC we ended up in a classic american dinners-name slips my mind but it was burgers all round. Seated to ask Oliver a question about something very vague on my iphone screen. Realising he actually couldn't see all that well, I instigated glasses , The designer replied. "NO I don't want to see clearly, I think if I do I won't be able to design and seeing my creation clearly just might not work".

Crazy or Genius? We don't know but so far it's working.



We're not sure where the HBA brand will go next but no matter what we know Shayne Oliver will stay grounded when it happens.
