Banditsu is of the UK's Young and fresh artists trying take British hip-hop/Grime back to where it should be, about the music. 



We Caught up with BanditSU See What the Lyricist had to say?



So for everyone who doesn't know who Banditsu is Can you break it down what you do and what your about?



Hello! My name is Banditsu aka young bandai and I am a new wave London rapper I also think of myself as an art and fashion enthusiast so i always find myself fusing the three artforms!

I know you've said previously that you wanted to represent UK HIP-HOP, but what do you think the uk Hip-hop scene is lacking? and how it varies from say the US hip-hop scene?



I think we lack variation here in the uk... In the US rap music consists of gangster rap, stoner rap, luxury rap and so on however here we mostly are exposed to commercial or hard drug selling rap and I have no problem with either genre but I feel we are not ALL represented entirely





What isit you feel you can bring as an asset to UK music?



I feel I bring a new outlook we don't see in the UK, much like an author I have my very own story to tell, you can really hear this in my music. I'm also part of a movement in UK rap known as "New Wave London" which long story short has aspects of every artform and is packaged in to a sound.



Who's your inspirations?



Argh! Haha this is a question I always dread because the vast number of inspirations I have but because we don't have all day I shall narrow it down to three! Mf doom is the first, I  am very fond of his creativity as a lyricist, he always shows me something new but stays true to hip hop. Secondly is Andre 3000 I love the fact he is so eccentric and that the eccentricity rubs off on his music, it's very refreshing to the soul. Finally I have to go with Notorious BIG he was years ahead of his time and his songs  always have relevance... One of my favourite quotes in life is "Art is someone's signature on time" who better than a legend like biggy to prove this?





where do you write most of your music?

I write  most of my music after 12am in my room "late nights, great rhymes" I also have three items I always include in my writing process... A spliff a glass of cold OJ or water and dark lighting.





Here at the FG we find Hip-Hop artist of 2013  is on the forefront of fashion endorsement deals and really making a new mark why do you think that is now?



It's because the two go hand in hand together so well! Like designers and clothing lines, rappers are brands. It's all about branding!



Whats your views on artists like Mykkie Blanco and Le1f who have turned hip-hop on its head?



I think shock factor is something that hip hops gotta get use too. It's not my thing but I'm not one to judge an artists sexual preference,
Also it's 2013 we live in ever changing times! If you don't like something don't listen, simples!



what has 2013 got in store for banditsu?



This year is exciting I have videos on the way ! A long awaited tape among mini ep's and will be doing more shows!

what you looking to achieve?



I just really wanna make not only the Banditsu brand bigger but the new wave London movement aswell... Show peeps we can be on the forefront of uk music without having to conform!



will we be seeing and album/mixtape anytime soon?

Yep! Got my long awaited mix tape entitled the miseducation of itsu. This tape has taken over a year to make and is still in the works but is crazy!
